Batto-ho Iaido teaches the traditional sword forms passed down from the times of the samurai. Practice is done using a katana (live blade), laito (practice blade) or bokken (wooden sword).

Aikido employs the use of jo (staff) and bokken (wooden sword). Birankai aikido includes Chiba Sensei’s jo basics, dynamic encountering with jo and bokken as a foundation for much of the training.
The relationship between body arts and weapons are very important. It is strongly encouraged to purchase your own weapons and use them as a training tool to educate your body during and in between formal classes.
